Name and Purpose

First post and I can think of nothing more superlative than a typical, all-time-classic introduction of myself. Most of the people that I am reaching out to right now, are probably puzzled by the choice of the language (being English and not Greek). I understand the light frustration but I chose the English language for the introductory because I hold high hopes that future friends from around the globe will throw a glance at my journey, once in a while, and if I limited myself to Greek then most of the people that I will definitely meet on this journey won't understand a fecking* thing. ( Actually I have a vague feeling that this blog will eventually turn into a host of three languages. English, Greek and Spanish)

Anyway...
I'm Alex and quite recently turned 26. I'm from Thessaloniki, a city in the northern part of Greece and due to various reasons that I will explain later on in this digital journal, I'll be commencing (in the next 12 hours) a journey around the World.

The Purpose of this journal... Actually no. This journal serves not just one, but a lot of purposes. Let's begin by saying that firstly, it will become a comforting light post for all those who reeeaaally want to know how I am doing (being alive and all), and track my adventures. Secondly it has been created so I can track and re-read my adventures because I'm pretty sure that they'll be so many in so little time that I'll have already forgotten half of them till I get back (so, I'll be learning them by heart). And thirdly, I am hoping to "exploit" it as "manual" of guidance from all the tips and suggestions that I'm hoping to gather (in the form of comments) from friends and family about all the places I'll be visiting and all the places that I won't. In practice, I will be informing everyone where I am, and what my plans are going to be for the next month, so I can get some feedback of what to see, taste, visit, experience or avoid.

For now my itinerary goes as follows:

Budapest (Hungary)
Bratislava (Slovakia)
Wien (Austria)
Salzburg (Austria)
Münich (Germany)
Stuttgart (Germany)
Düsseldorf (Germany)
Portugal
Argentina
Uruguay
Brasil
Peru
Guadalupe
Panama
Mexico
U.S.A
Canada
Marocco
Senegal
Tanzania
Zambia
Zimbabwe
Mozambique
Botswana
Madagaskar
Australia
New Zealand
Japan
Hong Kong
Thailand
Cambodia
Vietnam
India
Israel
...aaand the great return back home.

And I'm pretty sure that nothing will go as planned. But...hey! That's a good reason to write my itinerary down. So I can look at it, at the end of my trip and see how much far off I've gone.

I won't be writing frequently, and I'll probably won't be able to answer all your comments, but I promise I won't miss a good story, I will keep it alive, keep it breathing.

Well, that all for now folks!
Stay safe family! Friends! Love you all!

Σας αγαπώ όλους και υπόσχομαι να γράφω αρκετά στα ελληνικά για να μην κουράζω!

*Swearing will be limited to feck, shyte and arse and other abnormal phrases and words. The reason for this is that swearing in ridiculous words is like grabbing Anger by the horns and dressing him up as a old lady with pink panties. It's quite liberating.
